Some reminders:
Silent Auction
- This year we’re doing a “Silent Auction” that will be available in the
Monhegan Room right off the lobby. You may view and bid on at your leisure all weekend.
Sign up at the Registration Desk for a number. Keep checking and update your bids whenever
you wish. Winners will be announced on Sunday at the Luncheon.
Items are needed for the auction and as usual we hope that the
Clubs will again please donate one or two.
(A basket of goodies, gift certificates, jewelry, books, knitted items)
Be sure to put your Club’s name or your name on them and also the approximate value.
Friday Night Meet & Greet and Skits, etc. -
The Lions of Maine are full of fun and have lots of talent, so we’re asking the
Clubs to come up with a little fun for our Meet and Greet in the Rockland/Rockport Rom.
A skit, a club chorus, a soloist, a karaoke number, the sky’s the limit….
Use your vivid imaginations. Harrison, Damariscotta/Newcastle, Skowhegan and Massaabesic
are all planning to enter…. Now if they can do it, you or your Club can.
And, there will be prizes for “Most Original, Funniest, and Most Talented”.
Golf
PDG Bob Davis and Lion Alden McFarland are planning
a golf outing for Friday morning. Watch the next newsletter
or update for details. Know we have some golfers out there.
Door Decorating Contest
Use your imagination and make
a wreath or some sort of decoration for your door that in some
way depicts a Lions activity or fundraiser or anything about
Lions at all. It can be an individual or club effort.
We can use scotch tape, masking tape (NO duct tape)
and over-the-door hangers. Contest rules are attached.
There will be prizes for the “Most Ornate,
Most Original, Funniest, and Best Showing of Lionism”.
Banners
Clubs please remember to bring your Club Banner(s)
to the convention to place on display. They will be hung for all to see.
Let the Registration Desk know you have brought yours
so you can be directed to the proper place for exhibit.
Speakout Contest
This special event will be held Saturday afternoon
at 12:30 pm in the Bay Point Ballroom.
It is one of the highlights of the weekend.
Please plan on attending and enjoying our youth as they speak
on the subject of their choice.
Awards, Contest Winners and Recognitions
DG Harvey will be giving out Club Awards on Saturday afternoon at the
Cabinet Meeting and Individual Awards on Saturday night at the Banquet.
There may be some at the Incoming Officer’s Luncheon on Sunday.
Necrology Service
District Chaplin and CST Carl Talbot will
provide us with another of his moving tributes to the
deceased Lions of District 41.
This most moving service will be held on Sunday morning
at 9:00 am, sharp, in the Camden Room.
Display Tables
There will be table space available in the main hallway for organizations
or Clubs that wish to show off a particular project such as Diabetes,
Project Recycle, P.E.T., or whatever. To ensure you have a table,
please let a committee member know you wish to reserve a table.
4th Cabinet Meeting
Saturday at 2:30 pm will be the final Cabinet Meeting of the year in the
Bay Point Ballroom. DG Harvey will be announcing the
contest winners and presenting Club Awards.
Voting
Voting for District Governor, 1st Vice District Governor and 2nd Vice District Governor
will take place on Sunday morning at 11:00 am. There will also be a vote taken to approve
the “Proposed Policy Manual and Constitution and By-Laws changes” that were e-mailed to
all Club Presidents and Secretaries on February 13th. Please contact your President or
Secretary for a copy. Lions will gather in the Schooner Room and the actual voting will be
in the Penobscot Bay Room. Delegate cards are required to vote and Clubs must submit
their Delegate and Alternate lists to CST Carl Talbot by April 15th.
Hospitality Rooms
These are always soooo much fun. After the day’s events, we always look forward to
unwinding, letting go and really enjoying our fellow Lions…. not to mention the
great munchies and free “nightcaps” available.

Duke Goranites will be hosting a room on Saturday night.
